UCI Graduate and Undergraduate Students
The Department of Special Collections & Archives and the OC&SEAA Center work with graduate and undergraduate students at UC Irvine to design internships in collaboration with academic units on campus, including History, Art & Art History, Asian American Studies, Chicano/Latino Studies, and African American Studies. These internships typically are offered for course credit and typically 10 weeks to complete, although funding may be available for short-term paid opportunities. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com for more information.
Internships provide students with opportunities to expand their knowledge and training, including:
- Archival standards, methods, and procedures
- Planning and curating exhibits
- Digitization and digital humanities projects
- Web archiving
- Oral history
- Community-centered archives
- Historical research and documentation
The UC Irvine Libraries offers an annual award of $1,000 to one individual to use the research collections in the Southeast Asian Archive, part of the UC Irvine Libraries Special Collections and Archives.
